Your Impact:

In this role, you will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure, ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, which will enable staff, volunteers, and partners. Speicifically, you will do this by: Installing new / rebuild existing servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifying approaches that leverage our resources and provide scalable solutions. Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Building and maintaining secure systems. Providing escalation, problem management, and investigating and troubleshooting issues. Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures. Coordinating and communicating with impacted users / departments.

Ability to communicate and discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. Highly tuned troubleshooting and analysis skills are necessary to this role. Ability to move easily between complex issues, keeping focus on needs and responding well to demanding moments. Stay current with training and awareness around changing business needs and the appropriate technology to meet and exceed those needs.
