Job Description

We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. ## The impact you'll make Drive the digital transformation of laboratory and semiconductor manufacturing operations by designing, configuring, and supporting Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions that improve product traceability, automation, operational efficiency, and data integrity. You will enable engineers, technicians, and operations teams through factory automation systems, system integrations, AI-powered solutions, and continuous process improvements that support both new product development and sustaining operations. ## What you'll do Lam Research is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Administrator / MES Modeler to participate in the development, support, and continuous improvement of factory control systems that enable laboratory and manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will provide expertise, service, and support to laboratory operations while driving configuration, integration, testing, and automation activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires an individual who can work with minimal supervision to support system configuration and change activities from project inception through end-of-life. The primary focus is supporting and enhancing MES models, workflow automation, system integrations, and factory control applications to meet dynamic business requirements. The candidate will join a fast-paced factory automation organization supporting new product development and sustaining operations within a semiconductor manufacturing and R D environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Create, configure, maintain, and support MES models and automated workflows.
- Convert manufacturing and laboratory process flows into automated system models.
- Support wafer and IP coupon tracking, traceability, and manufacturing execution processes.
- Configure and maintain product structures including wafers, die, sub-silicon products, material carriers, consumables, equipment, and facilities.
- Support and troubleshoot MES, MCS, MVC, RFID, wafer ID reader integrations, and Lab360 Service Management applications.
- Develop and maintain interfaces between MES and third-party systems using SECS/GEM, HSMS, IoT platforms, APIs, and Message Bus technologies.
- Perform end-to-end testing and validation across multiple integrated applications and factory systems.
- Develop SQL queries and reports to support operational analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, laboratory operations, manufacturing, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Analyze issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support AI-enabled operational solutions, intelligent knowledge systems, and automation initiatives to improve user productivity and support efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Microsoft Copilot Studio agents and AI-powered support capabilities for factory and laboratory operations. ## Who we're looking for
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a manufacturing environment, preferably semiconductor R D. Hands-on experience creating MES models, configuring product and process workflows, and converting business requirements into automated system solutions.
- Experience modeling wafers, IP coupons, die, sub-silicon products, equipment, facilities, material carriers, and consumables.
- Experience integrating MES applications with factory systems and third-party technologies including SECS/GEM, HSMS, IoT, APIs, and Message Bus architectures.
- Proficiency with SQL databases, Operational Data Stores (ODS), and Data Warehouses for troubleshooting, reporting, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of factory automation applications including
MES, MCS, MVC, RFID
solutions, wafer ID readers, and Service Management.- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. ## Preferred qualifications
- Experience developing AI-powered solutions, workflow automations, or Microsoft Copilot Studio agents.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Power Platform, and enterprise application integrations.
- Experience with end-to-end testing and validation across multiple integrated applications.
