This position is a mix of work-from-home technical support and hands-on client visits . Candidates should be located in San Jose or a nearby Bay Area community and have reliable transportation. Depending on the week, you can expect to be at client locations approximately 2-4 days per week , primarily throughout San Jose, San Francisco, and surrounding areas. When you're not scheduled at a client site, you'll work remotely alongside our support and engineering teams. What You'll Be Working On This role provides exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments.
Your day-to-day work may include:
Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, email, applications, and connectivity issues Supporting Windows and macOS computers as well as Chromebooks and iPads Setting up new users, computers, email accounts, MFA, and other business applications Supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Gmail, and Google Workspace Installing and troubleshooting switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network equipment Diagnosing Wi-Fi, internet, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN problems Preparing and deploying new computers and replacing existing workstations Assisting with new office setups, equipment installations, and other client projects Performing system updates, patching, maintenance, and basic security tasks Documenting client environments, equipment, configurations, and completed work Working directly with users and communicating technical issues in a clear and professional manner You won't be expected to solve everything yourself. More advanced issues are escalated to our Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers, giving you an opportunity to learn from senior members of the team. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who already has a foundation in IT support and wants to continue building real-world technical experience.
You should have:
Previous help desk, desktop support, IT support, or similar hands-on experience Good troubleshooting skills with Windows computers and common business applications Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, switches, and firewalls Strong communication and customer service skills The ability to manage your workload and work independently when needed An interest in learning networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and systems administration Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Macs, Chromebooks, or mobile device support is helpful but not required. Location & Travel This is not a fully remote position . Candidates must currently reside in San Jose or the surrounding Bay Area and be able to drive to client locations when needed. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. On-site requirements vary depending on support and project schedules, but typically average 2-4 days per week . The remainder of the position is performed remotely.
