Service Engineer (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary:

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with sophisticated cloud infrastructure and security systems, focusing on maintaining and enhancing critical business applications. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex software solutions, with particular emphasis on cloud security and infrastructure architecture. This role requires a professional who can balance technical expertise with analytical problem-solving skills to ensure robust system performance and security compliance. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, performing remediation activities, and supporting infrastructure needs while contributing to major system enhancements and software implementation projects.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor and review security alerts through designated platforms on a daily basis Read remediation documentation and execute appropriate remediation procedures Check multiple alert platforms daily for new and resolved security incidents Fine-tune and improve sophisticated software implementation projects Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications for system improvements Implement system software and customize solutions to meet specific requirements Prepare detailed software specifications and comprehensive test plans Code new programs according to specifications and create test data for validation Modify existing programs to align with new standards and conduct thorough unit testing Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation phases Provide quality assurance reviews to ensure software reliability and performance Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve bugs identified during testing Support the department with infrastructure and security needs for various tools Conduct in-depth troubleshooting for both new and legacy production systems

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field 10 or more years of relevant professional experience Demonstrated experience with large systems software design and development Proven track record performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems Extensive programming experience with strong problem diagnosis and resolution skills Azure cloud platform expertise, particularly in Virtual Networking and Azure Security Cybersecurity principles and security networking knowledge Infrastructure architecture design and implementation PowerShell scripting proficiency ARM template development and deployment Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms Software design principles and best practices Large-scale systems software design and development Problem diagnosis and resolution capabilities Unit testing methodologies and practices Programming expertise across multiple languages Quality assurance and validation techniques
