TITLE:
Senior Systems Administrator
JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Systems Administrator serves as a technical lead and subject-matter expert for assigned enterprise server platforms and infrastructure services supporting 24x7x365 clinical and business operations. The position leads resolution of complex, high-impact, recurring, and cross-platform issues, designs and implements infrastructure solutions, and develops technical standards for configuration, security, automation, performance, resilience, recovery, lifecycle management, and operational support. The Senior Systems Administrator leads complex or high-risk technical workstreams, provides technical direction to administrators and project teams, mentors staff, and develops roadmap and lifecycle recommendations for assigned platforms and services.

As required to fulfill responsibilities, including on-call, after-hours, and emergency response coverage. This is a hybrid role; onsite work will be required to support data center, server, vendor, project, maintenance, and incident response activities.

PREREQUISITES
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems administration, or systems engineering required. Experience must include extensive technical work with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, endpoint and server management platforms, monitoring and observability tools, backup platforms, virtualization platforms, cloud governance practices, cloud operational support, automation platforms, APIs, infrastructure-as-code methodologies, and hosted, private cloud, or hybrid cloud environments. Advanced experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, identity and access management, enterprise patching, monitoring, backup/recovery, system hardening, and mission-critical infrastructure services required. Previous experience must also include leading technical workstreams, designing operational standards, mentoring administrators, and coordinating complex changes in an enterprise production environment required. Two (2) current industry-recognized enterprise infrastructure, operating system, cloud, security, virtualization, or IT service management certifications required (may include but not limited to: CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine root cause, assess risk, restore service, and document corrective actions. Working knowledge of IT Service Management practices, including incident, problem, change, configuration, request, and knowledge management. Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.3. Ability to produce accurate work, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and function in an environment with a wide variety of duties and frequent interruptions. Ability to lead small projects or technical work efforts appropriate to level. Healthcare IT experience, including familiarity with
HIPAA/HITECH
expectations and clinical systems support, preferred.
UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires the ability to move server, storage, workstation, and networking equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. May require prolonged standing, ladder work, cable tracing, working around equipment racks, and working in small or confined spaces in data center or office environments. Requires planning, organizing, and working on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Requires availability for on-call, after-hours, maintenance-window, and emergency response support to maintain continuous operations. Tolerates ambiguity in instructions and work situations. May coordinate or oversee work performed by vendors, contractors, and service providers.

Administrative Partner Essential Responsibilities and Competencies:
Technical Leadership & Architecture Serve as the technical owner and primary subject matter expert for assigned infrastructure platforms and services. Develop and maintain technical standards, configuration baselines, security requirements, operational procedures, and lifecycle strategies for infrastructure technologies. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for infrastructure modernization, risk reduction, operational efficiency, and service improvement. Develop architecture recommendations and technical roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy, security requirements, and operational objectives. Complex Problem Resolution Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex, high-impact, recurring, or cross-functional infrastructure incidents. Conduct advanced root cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence of systemic issues. Automation & Operational Excellence Design and implement enterprise automation solutions utilizing PowerShell, APIs, orchestration platforms, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies. Establish standards and governance practices for infrastructure automation, source control, testing, and operational support. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, scalability, security, and operational maturity. Mentorship & Team Development Mentor Systems Administrators and other technical staff through coaching, knowledge transfer, technical guidance, and peer review activities. Lead technical discussions, operational reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve team capabilities and service delivery. Review technical designs, implementation plans, operational procedures, and documentation for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards. Strategic Planning Provide technical input for budgeting, vendor evaluations, product selection, lifecycle planning, disaster recovery planning, and capacity management. Develop recommendations for infrastructure investments and operational improvements based on business requirements, support metrics, technical debt, security risks, and platform health. Partner with leadership to develop long-term infrastructure strategies supporting clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
