Systems Administrator (Linux)

100% On-Site in Oxnard, supporting a Manufacturing Environment About the Role We're seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain Linux-based systems. You'll monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and help ensure reliable day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Monitor Linux servers to maintain performance, uptime, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve Linux, software, and basic network issues. Support users with system access and functionality questions. Perform updates, patching, and configuration changes. Manage backups and assist with system recovery. Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and procedures. Collaborate with IT teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance. Create basic automation scripts using Bash or Python. Follow established processes and escalate issues when needed. Required Qualifications Experience working with Linux systems. Comfortable using the Linux command line. Familiarity with Ubuntu, SUSE, and/or Red Hat. Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, or similar certification. Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix. Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud environments. Ideal for candidates looking to grow their Linux administration skills in a hands-on production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
