Job Description

Description The IT Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining and optimizing core server and cloud infrastructure across Azure and on-prem environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while driving a high volume of security remediation tickets. -
Shift:
8am-5pm (Flexibility for an hour earlier start) - Rotating after hours maintenance shift (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments (physical and virtual) in a secure and stable manner
  • Manage Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) within a primarily Azure-based environment
  • Own and resolve a high volume of infrastructure and security remediation tickets, including permissions, account updates, system configuration changes, and vulnerability fixes
  • Perform security-related system administration tasks, including patching, configuration updates, and remediation of vulnerabilities identified through internal security scans
  • Execute system updates and participate in scheduled maintenance windows (patching, reboots, upgrades)
  • Maintain Active Directory and Azure AD (DNS, DHCP, GPOs), with a focus on user access, permissions, and policy administration
  • Partner with the security team to support remediation efforts and implement required system changes
  • Monitor systems and logs to identify performance issues and potential risks
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across OS, application, and platform layers
  • Collaborate with engineering and service desk teams for escalations and operational support
  • Support endpoint/device management efforts (including Intune, where applicable)

  • Familiarity with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI) to improve efficiency.
  • Exposure to security best practices (patching, identity/access management, endpoint protection).
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery and backup solutions in enterprise settings.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills for runbooks, SOPs, and audits.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Knoxville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
