We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join this team. In this role, you will architect and build advanced solutions that leverage artificial intelligence, workflow automation, and geospatial intelligence to solve complex challenges with multi-billion-dollar business impact. Working at the intersection of technology and physical infrastructure, you will collaborate with cross-functional experts to develop innovative solutions that shape and redefine industry standards.   • Tech team, you will be at the forefront of Amazon's AI transformation into the commercial real estate space.
You will:
  • Drive Business-Critical Decisions:
    Build scalable systems and intelligent workflows that support high-impact real estate decisions across Amazon's global network
  • Deliver Global Impact:
    Develop solutions used across multiple countries, supporting thousands of facilities and millions of square feet of real estate
  • Innovate in
Real Estate Technology:
Work at the intersection of commercial real estate, geospatial systems, data, and modern software engineering to improve how Amazon evaluates and acquires sites
  • Build Next-Generation Platforms:
    Design and develop platforms that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and long-term planning for Amazon's facilities network
  • Pioneer AI Implementation:
    Lead the development of proprietary AI solutions that will transform how Amazon evaluates, acquires, and optimizes its worldwide facilities network
  • Collaborate with
AI Leaders:
Partner directly with other Amazon AI/ML experts to bring advanced capabilities to real estate operations, with direct visibility to senior leadership A day in the life
  • Lead and mentor software engineers through design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and hands-on guidance
  • Build and enhance scalable solutions that analyze real estate and operational data, improve decision-making, and streamline site evaluation processes
  • Drive architecture discussions and contribute to system designs that are scalable, maintainable, and capable of supporting Amazon's global real estate portfolio
  • Develop new features and services that leverage geospatial intelligence, automation, and data-driven insights
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that follows Amazon engineering best practices and operational excellence standards
  • Review code contributions from team members and provide actionable feedback to improve software quality, system reliability, and engineering craftsmanship
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating opportunities to apply them to real-world operational and business challenges
  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy while balancing near-term business priorities and execution needs About the team The Search and Scope (SAS) pillar is part of Amazon's Global Operations Enterprise Services Technology organization (GOES-Tech), which builds and operates the technology that powers Amazon's global physical logistics network.
Within this space, SAS enables the Global Realty organization to search, evaluate, and acquire sites that support Amazon's rapidly expanding infrastructure footprint. Our mission is to ensure that every site decision is made safely, quickly, cost-effectively, and with sustainability embedded from day one. To achieve this, we provide end-to-end technology and analytical capabilities across the site acquisition lifecycle—from initial market discovery and due diligence to final site selection and early-stage design planning. Our platforms combine geospatial intelligence, advanced data science, and scalable software systems to help real estate teams make high-quality, data-driven decisions. Core capabilities include location-enabled site management systems, design optimization and feasibility tools, geospatial mapping and network intelligence, and data science solutions that power strategic market analysis.   • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
