Job Summary:

MI 's Weapons Release Systems Specialist tests suspension, launch, and release systems for retentive

locking, and manual or electrical release aircraft weapon system. Analyzes malfunctions. Performs

functional checks of launch and suspension systems.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Inspects, cleans, tests, and repairs assigned equipment in accordance with applicable
    technical directives. Works with blueprints, mechanical layout drawings, electronic
    schematics, Technical Orders, TCTOs, Technical manuals (TMs) and other specialized
    documentation to accomplish mission. Improvises procedures and materials to solve
    unusual problems.
  • Uses standard and specialized electronic test equipment to assist performance of extended operational
    tests, repairs, calibration, and overhaul of assigned equipment.
  • Determines defective components and repairs and/or replaces defective parts. Calibrates,
    alignments, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating efficiency. Performs corrosion
    control actions (as required) on all assigned equipment.
  • Performs user maintenance on all assigned test equipment and tools.
  • Provides detailed information for unsatisfactory material reports, system status updates, and parts
    requisitions.
  • Determines suitability of and requisitions required replacement parts.
    Verifies receipt of requisitioned parts.
  • Research substitute parts for supported equipment.
  • Research replacement parts information to determine applicability, suitability, and repair codes prior to
    requisitioning.
  • Conducts training of other Work Center personnel.
  • Aids other personnel assigned to the section at the direction of the Section Lead.
  • Maintains technical order, publications, and other documentation files.
  • Conducts Red X Inspections on applicable work performed and validate all related discrepancies for
    completeness and accuracy.

  • Performs general housekeeping and maintenance of the work area.
    Complies with all company OSHA, AFOSH and customer safety
    requirements. Strictly adheres to all security requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Applicants must have at least eight (8) years of specialized experience as a USAF 2W1Xl, or equivalent
    civilian/sister service qualifications.
  • Back shop experience highly desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and express thoughts clearly in oral and written English. Must
    be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
  • Current valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
  • Environment ranges from office-like to hangar and flight line.

Extensive sitting to climbing, standing,

stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
