Job Requirements Fairfax, VA Secret Polygraph Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Job Description ECS Federal is seeking a Linux Engineer to work out of our Fairfax, VA and/or Springfield, VA office supporting our government customer. This position will require experience building and troubleshooting Linux Systems as well as integrating containerized technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with Kubernetes as well as 4+ years working on RHEL. Experience working with multicast video is beneficial. The candidate will work with a cross functional team of other Linux Systems Engineers, Project Managers, and Software Developers to build, assess, and deploy a variety of software and hardware products globally. The Linux Engineer should have prior experience in designing/architecting enterprise scale systems incorporating a variety of components (COTS, GOTS, & open source) and supporting integration efforts. This individual performs in a multidisciplinary team environment with tight deadlines. The successful candidate is initiative-taking, eager to implement modern and emerging technologies, and thrives working alongside a cross functional team of technical professionals. Job Description Specific duties and responsibilities include: Documenting and reporting system discrepancies and efforts to remediate Supporting a team of Engineers permanently deployed to several CONUS and OCONUS locations Performing security baselining Managing containerized applications Providing technical briefs to Government representatives Generating technical documentation, architecture, and after-action reports Troubleshooting Linux systems deployed in development and production environments Communicating effectively within the Intelligence Community and DoD Conducting cyclical inventory and maintain account of Program hardware Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds in weight Required Skills B.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related Information Technology field with 4 years+ of Linux systems engineering experience In lieu of a CS/IT degree, 8+ years of Linux systems engineering experience Active Secret security clearance (Must be willing to sit for a TS/SCI with Counterintelligence (CI) Poly) Active DoD 8140 Level II Baseline Certification Experience utilizing containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes) Experience with Ansible, Puppet or similar tools An individual with proven ability to work and collaborate with a software development team Ability to travel to

locations as needed 3+ years of experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes clusters 2+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift for container orchestration and application deployment in enterprise environments Strong proficiency in Linux shell scripting (Bash/Shell) with experience automating system administration tasks and troubleshooting in RHEL/CentOS environments 2+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM services Basic proficiency in Python scripting for automation, tooling, and infrastructure tasks Working knowledge of Git version control including branching, merging, and pull request workflows Experience implementing GitOps methodologies Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools Desired Skills TS/SCI (+CI Poly) security clearance Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise level systems #EverforthECS1 ECS
