What You'll Be Doing The Network Administrator is responsible for the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of the Town's network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and firewall platforms. This position installs, configures, and maintains LAN/WAN, VPN, and secure remote connectivity solutions, including Cisco Firepower and Cisco Secured Access (preferred) and secure mobile routers used for public safety, field operations, and remote sites. The Network Administrator plays a key role in protecting Town systems and data by implementing network security controls, monitoring issues, and responding quickly to incidents. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration in an enterprise environment, including hands-on work with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Experience supporting firewall and VPN solutions and managing secure connectivity with external agencies or partners. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required or the ability to obtain within 12 months after hire. Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Preferred Qualifications Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise or Security). Additional relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco Firepower, or equivalent) are desirable. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
