This role will serve as a key technical resource supporting both corporate headquarters in and a manufacturing plant while also providing remote infrastructure support. The environment is approximately 60% Azure and 40% on-premises , with the position split approximately 50% engineering and 50% project work . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, VMware, Windows Server, endpoint management, virtualization, storage, networking, backup/DR, and enterprise infrastructure . Primary Responsibilities Senior-Level Systems Support Provide Level 3 technical support for issues that cannot be resolved by the Help Desk. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, server, workstation, application, and connectivity issues. Provide hands-on and walk-up technical support for users, including Microsoft Teams, email, and related technologies. Diagnose hardware, software, operating system, network, and systems-related issues. Serve as a senior escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents. Azure & Cloud Infrastructure Administer and support a Microsoft Azure environment representing approximately 60% of the infrastructure . Manage and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) . Support Azure networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID . Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments. Manage Azure SaaS services and related cloud infrastructure. Support Microsoft Intune / Mobile Device Management (MDM) . Assist with cloud infrastructure growth, optimization, migrations, and modernization initiatives. Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and security. On-Premises Infrastructure Administer and troubleshoot an on-premises infrastructure representing approximately 40% of the environment . Manage Windows Server environments. Administer Active Directory and Group Policy. Perform AD domain administration and user/account policy management. Support VMware virtualization environments. Support enterprise storage and networking infrastructure. Manage and troubleshoot backup and disaster recovery platforms. Support servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and related systems. Participate in infrastructure lifecycle management and technology upgrades. Infrastructure Engineering & Projects Participate in infrastructure projects involving virtualization, endpoint management, cloud technologies, and enterprise systems. Design, implement, configure, and maintain infrastructure solutions. Manage user account policy structures and Active Directory environments. Support enterprise environment growth, including servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and cloud resources. Coordinate technical projects across multiple teams and stakeholders. Work closely with Veralto IT, WQ, IT, Applications, Manufacturing, and other business/technical teams . Assist with implementations, migrations, upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure modernization. Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and technical solutions. Manufacturing & Enterprise Technology Support Provide technical support for manufacturing-related systems and software. Support VMware, printers, manufacturing software, and other technologies outside the Microsoft ecosystem . Collaborate with manufacturing and business teams to troubleshoot technology issues affecting operations. Help maintain reliable technology infrastructure supporting plant operations. Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Technologies Microsoft 365 administration is primarily handled by the parent company's IT team; however, the Senior Systems Administrator should have a solid working knowledge of: Microsoft 365 Exchange Online Microsoft Teams SharePoint OneDrive Entra ID Email and collaboration technologies The ability to collaborate effectively with the parent company's IT team on these technologies is important. Environment The successful candidate will work within a hybrid infrastructure consisting of: Cloud / Azure - Approximately 60% Microsoft Azure Azure Virtual Machines Azure Networking Azure Storage Azure Backup Disaster Recovery Microsoft Entra ID Azure Virtual Desktop Azure SaaS Microsoft Intune / MDM On-Premises - Approximately 40% Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy VMware Enterprise Storage Networking Backup & Disaster Recovery Workstations / Endpoints Printers Manufacturing Systems & Software QualificationsRequired 5+ years of experience in systems administration, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related IT role. Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments. Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory . Experience with VMware virtualization . Experience supporting enterprise networking, storage, and backup environments. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and endpoint management. Experience with Microsoft Intune / MDM . Strong troubleshooting and Level 3 escalation experience. Experience supporting infrastructure projects and implementations. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to provide hands-on support at both corporate and manufacturing locations. Preferred Azure certifications such as
AZ-104, AZ-800/AZ-801
, or equivalent experience. Microsoft certifications related to Azure, Windows Server, or endpoint management. VMware certifications or extensive VMware administration experience. Experience supporting manufacturing environments. Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. Experience working in multi-site enterprise environments. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 technologies. Experience working with geographically distributed teams and international locations. We are looking for a hands-on senior infrastructure professional who can operate effectively between systems administration, engineering, troubleshooting, and project delivery . The ideal candidate is comfortable jumping into complex Level 3 issues one moment and working on a major Azure, virtualization, endpoint, or infrastructure project the next. You should be equally comfortable working independently, collaborating with enterprise IT teams, and providing hands-on support in a manufacturing environment.
