Job Description

We are seeking a Network Administrator to join our team. Mission Focus:
NT Concepts is seeking a Network Administrator to support the DoD enterprise Military Housing system. This complex system of 34 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of over 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.
Clearance :
Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain/maintain Top-Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.
Location/Flexibility:
Must be local to the DC Metro area with the ability to travel to Norfolk, VA as needed
Responsibilities:
Assist in configuring and managing network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls. Support VPN connections, firewall rule changes, and network access control under guidance. Monitor network health, performance, and security using established tools and processes. Help troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues in coordination with senior staff. Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records. Participate in patching, upgrades, and other routine maintenance activities. Ensure work aligns with DoD security policies and federal IT standards. Utilize network analysis tools to identify and mitigate performance problems in the network. Monitor services with log aggregations, automated analysis, reporting, and alerting in support of incident detection and response.
Qualifications:
Education:
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional/educational experience.
Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Clearance :
Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain/maintain Top-Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.
Location:
Must be local to the DC Metro area with the ability to travel to Norfolk, VA as needed Must have or obtain a CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8140-equivalent certification within 6 months of hire. Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, VPNs, etc.). Strong interest in supporting secure networks within a federal environment. Ability to follow direction, document work clearly, and learn from senior engineers. Ability to utilize network analysis tools to resolve routine network performance problems. Working knowledge of the theory and practice underlying LAN/WAN network operations Prior experience with Cat5, Cat6, Fiber, Network Switches, and patch panels Experience with project and task planning to include scope of work, time estimation, and resource assignment. Problem-solving skills to identify, mitigate, and/or solve network challenges. Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus. MS Office suite proficiency, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to provide clear, accurate, and simple explanations of technical procedures and processes to audiences of varying degrees of technical proficiency. Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to enterprise networking hardware and tools (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto). Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Previous experience (internship, lab work, or junior role) supporting network environments. Experience or interest in cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).
Certification Requirements:
Must have or obtain a CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8140-equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
