Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to support and enhance a complex technology environment across multiple locations in South Burlington, Vermont. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a service-oriented mindset and can serve as a senior escalation point for infrastructure and end-user issues. The role focuses on maintaining secure, reliable systems across cloud and on-premises platforms while partnering with internal teams to improve performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and support hybrid infrastructure spanning cloud-based services and on-premises systems to ensure stability, security, and consistent performance.
- Manage the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Entra ID, Azure services, and domain-related administration, while helping maintain access controls and user productivity.
- Oversee device configuration and endpoint protection for Windows environments through Microsoft Intune and support mobile device management for iOS platforms.
- Maintain Linux systems by applying configuration standards, strengthening security settings, and supporting domain-integrated administration tools.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure improvements with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Configure and monitor backup, replication, and recovery processes, including routine validation, documentation updates, and disaster recovery testing.
- Use monitoring and alerting tools to track system and network health, investigate incidents, and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Provide Tier 2 support for employees and office locations, acting as an advanced escalation resource for complex technical issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedural guides, and user-facing training materials to support operational consistency.
- Partner with information security stakeholders to address vulnerabilities, strengthen safeguards, and support ongoing infrastructure hardening efforts.
