General Purpose:
The Senior System Technician is a technical role responsible for hands-on IT support, system maintenance, and standard deployments. This position requires working knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, networking fundamentals, and strong troubleshooting skills. In addition to handling service and incident requests, the Senior System Technician plays a key role in providing operational support for escalated issues—working closely with other Senior System Technician, customers, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical problems and ensure seamless on-site service delivery. This role also supports the onboarding and implementation of new facilities, including deploying infrastructure, configuring systems, and ensuring technology readiness to meet organizational standards and operational requirements. Essential Duties Support on-site deployments of IT infrastructure, including but not limited to workstations, servers, printers, switches, and other network equipment Perform hardware installations, cabling, and equipment racking as needed Participate in onboarding and implementation of new locations or expansions, ensuring all systems are configured to organizational standards Works support tickets and calls related to deployed systems Collaborate effectively within the IT team. Configure and troubleshoot LANs and VLANs for local environments. Operate and manage Microsoft Active Directory, including basic user and group management. Acts as an escalation for Support Technicians Perform routine PowerShell scripting for standard administrative tasks. Support the deployment and installation of workstations and devices. Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to internal knowledge base documentation by updating playbooks and procedures based on lessons learned Provides technical oversight for standard tasks (ISP changes, etc) Assist in Point-of-Sale (POS) upgrades Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies or off-hours issues as required Travel to field sites as needed based on deployment schedules and escalation needs Physical Requirements Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer or handling technical tasks. Must be able to lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 30 pounds frequently. Travel of up to 40% is required for this position. Education/Experience Associate Degree or 2 years of related field experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.
