Job Description

Our client is looking for several Network Technicians who have a proven track record in: Racking and stacking of network devices Cable patching Physical layer troubleshooting Equipment disposal activities This position will support facilities management, site security, and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customers by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.
Position Details:
Hourly position based on experience & skill level Long-term contract with possible contract extension or hire Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 am-6:00 pm (OT, may include nights and weekends)

Mobile worker within commutable distance or residing in
San Francisco, CA Travel Radius:
up to 4 hours from Location Candidates must have a valid Driver's License & a dependable vehicle that can support carrying a 6-foot ladder Required tools. Punch tool with 110 termination blade. Toner & Probe Snips Torpedo Level Multiple size screwdrivers Cordless Drill with bits Wrenches Socket Set Sharpie Pens Must have a personal smartphone with a hotspot
Responsibilities:
The patching cabling between network equipment and the customer's network. Can provide network connectivity to the user end devices. The installation, troubleshooting, and de-installing of network equipment. Install and troubleshoot cabling Can provide connectivity to user-end devices Provide layer 1 support Basic telephony skills/knowledge Good customer service and relations Rack and Stack Knowledge of switches and routers VOIP Wireless Access Points Extend circuits from the MPOE through the riser system to devices in the MDF or IDF Troubleshoot circuits Knowledge of hyper terminal and PuTTY Renovations Switch Upgrades Memory Installs VOIP upgrades Large-scale user relocations Can work independently or with a team. Capable of taking instructions or leading a team. Completes numerous tickets daily Routing / Mapping out their daily travel route in the best order to complete all assigned work orders Returns phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Requirements:
Requires experience in working in communications closets Must be able to perform rack and stack activities. Must be able to safely lift heavy objects Must understand cable patching processes and procedures Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking and basic telephony. Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues Must understand network terminology Must be familiar with IP phone Must be able to program Cisco phones Must be able to install Cisco VOIP phones Must be able to troubleshoot Cisco phones Requires good interpersonal communications skills Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue Must be able to interpret a customer's issue in a way that will allow the technician to facilitate a resolution
Experience and Education:
Min 3 years of experience in data communications Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches, and routers Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
