IS Technician I

Primary Accountability IS Technician I is responsible for the installation, configuration, repair and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers and related equipment. Description of Primary Responsibilities Responsible for the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers, and other equipment. Installs and maintains software and hardware. Upgrades, repairs and replaces computer-related equipment. Responsible for providing training and instruction to personal computer users. Responsible for carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas as assigned: Responsible for achieving departmental goals and metrics for functional areas as assigned. Communicates feedback to the supervisor regarding workflows and policies. Serves as a subject matter expert in functional areas as assigned. Performs high-level administrative functions to comply with regulations and reporting requirements to meet department deadlines. Responsible for assisting the supervisor with general responsibilities and duties. Purchases computer-related hardware and software equipment. Assists computer users in resolving issues. Assists in planning, installation and maintenance of local and wide area networks. Performs other duties as assigned.

Description of Primary Attributes Professional & Technical Knowledge:

Possesses work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including formal written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a trade school, para-professional, or certificate type program. Job duties require specific knowledge and training in computer systems and repairs or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:

Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements. Ability to use Microsoft Excel to review and compile data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements. Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid CA driver's license and car insurance is required.

Communications Skills:

Job duties require the compilation of information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation. Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.
