The IT Network Technician is responsible for providing technical installation and support for the SRHC enterprise networks. The IT Network Technician provides 2nd level support for telephone/network cabling and wiring systems and other telecommunication peripheral equipment. This role is responsible for coordinating upgrades of telecommunication and networking infrastructure. The IT Network Technician follows the technical standards and organizational policies and procedures relating to the SRHC infrastructure. Provides a strong background in LAN's (Local Area Networks), WAN's (Wide Area Networks), hardware, and connectivity.

Installs and maintains data communications hardware and wiring, including SRHC cable plant. Demonstrates ability to prioritize work to assure completion of tasks as required. Completes Request for Service (RFS). Processes requests for new equipment and network wiring. Ensures assigned projects and tasks are completed accurately and by the specified due date. ACCESS Maintains established hospital and Telecommunications specific policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, by maintaining accurate records and documentation. Reviews technical procedures yearly. Responsible for diagnoses, troubleshooting, and repairs/fixes for network hardware, cabling, testing of new and upgraded network hardware and wiring problems, with minimal interruption to users. Designs and develops alternate solutions for fixing problems. Performs routine training, tuning, configuration and updates of network tools to ensure that network is operating optimally.

Stays current with industry trends and technology advances and makes recommendations as to appropriateness for SRHC network environment including standards. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Maintains inventory of physical components of the communications network. Interpret and maintain technical documentation and flowcharts. Operates within the network performance certification and ensures IT server room, data closets and equipment is kept clean, organized and in good working order.
