Job Description

Compucom Systems, Inc. provides end-to-end IT managed services to enable the digital workplace for enterprise, midsize and small businesses. To enable our clients to focus on what matters most, we employ a customer-centric, hard-working, and talented group of people that Act Like an Owner, Do the Right Thing, and Have Fun Doing It! We're looking for a Field Tech II to join our team. The IT Field Technician will provide onsite technical support for a national home improvement retail client. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on IT work, troubleshooting, and working in a fast-paced field environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide onsite support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, printers, thin clients, access points, and network devices Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support Support copper and fiber cabling, including basic terminations Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems Travel daily within a 125+ mile radius (route-based travel) Work with remote teams to resolve escalated technical issues Occasionally work at heights (20-25 feet) and lift up to 25 lbs
Qualifications:
1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience CompTIA A+ (required), Network+ preferred Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux environments Familiarity with networking fundamentals and IT hardware Experience with cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus Strong communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license required
Wage Range :
The hourly rate for this position is between $16.50 - $22.00 per hour, unless the local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
