Position Summary Doane University invites applications for the position of Technology Operations Technician. This position provides hands-on technical support for the university's network infrastructure, computer systems, and audiovisual equipment across campus.
The Technology Operations Technician supports and maintains the university's technological infrastructure, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues, pulling and terminating network cable, installing and supporting audiovisual equipment, and managing endpoint devices across campus. Responsibilities include deploying, configuring, imaging, maintaining, and troubleshooting university-owned desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices using modern endpoint management and device lifecycle practices. The technician will assist with device provisioning, software deployment, patch management, hardware replacements, and asset tracking to ensure reliable and secure technology services for faculty, staff, and students.
Reporting directly to the Director of Technology Operations, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer support. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Technology Operations team while contributing to the ongoing improvement and reliability of campus technology services.

FLSA Salaried (Exempt)
Salary Salary for this position ranges from $53,000 to $59,000
Minimum Required Qualifications Associate degree in customer service, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, work experience, or military experience may be considered.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing technical support or related technology services. A combination of capabilities from the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) is required. Within the SFIA profile, the Technology Operations Technician has level 2, 3, and 4 capabilities.

Working Conditions The role primarily reports to the Crete campus but may require travel to the Lincoln and Omaha campuses as needed to support services, projects, maintenance, or emergencies. Work is generally during normal business hours, but may include occasional evenings, weekends, or other non-traditional hours to support events or respond to urgent service needs. Travel Required No
