Garfield Heights City Schools is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Network Technician to support and maintain the district's technology systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and hardware issues, and a commitment to supporting both instructional and operational technology needs. In this role, you will install, configure, and repair devices such as computers, Chromebooks, and network equipment, while also supporting systems including security, communication, and classroom technology. You will assist with inventory management, preventative maintenance, and coordination with vendors, while providing responsive technical support to staff across multiple buildings. The Network Technician will work collaboratively with the technology team and district staff, maintain accurate records, and ensure all technology resources are functioning efficiently to support student learning and daily operations.NOTE:

- Ensure safety of students
- Diagnose and repair technology equipment and all other network related equipment within cost effective standards
- Support district systems including, but not limited to, security, video, copiers, digital signage, public address systems, auditorium equipment, food service point of sale, projectors and any other new technologies.
- Assist contracted vendors when they are on-site to install, repair or maintain network equipment.
- Represent the district in working with outside experts, service providers and other professionals, including serving as a liaison for technology issues
- Install computers, printers, and peripherals and software
- Maintain an inventory of district-owned hardware, software and related equipment and materials, configurations, and other network records
- Setup Chromebooks, maintain inventory, and repair devices.
- Assist in staff professional development
- Maintain required repair records, reports, and correspondence in a timely manner
- Maintain computer parts inventories, configurations, and other network records
- Install cabling and network equipment
- Coordinate the distribution of various technologyin the schools
- Assist to establish and implement a preventative maintenance program
- Assist in the district's network using hardware and diagnostic software
- Communicate and work cooperatively with the Director of Technology, all technology staff and all building level administrators
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Assist in troubleshooting network and user account issues
- Promote good public relations
- Ability to work independently
- Attend meetings, workshops and in-services as required
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to move from school to school and from room to room to interact with staff, as well as, remain in fixed location for a period of time
- Suited for situations that require the ability to plan ahead, yet remain flexible enough to adapt to new situations or react to emergencies
- Suited for situations that require the ability to interact to and interact well with other people, especially the district technology staff, but also the ability to work alone
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral methods
- Assist in the participation of the development of policies and procedures relating to technology
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Provide training as requested
- Serve as a role model for students
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or designee
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
About You:
Two years related experience with technology College Degree or Technical Training required Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate Ability to work effectively with others Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing Effective, active listening Organizational and problem-solving skills Extensive knowledge of computer networks Budgeting skills Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of computer-related technology and equipment Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral methods Wide Area Network (WAN) understanding and experience preferredAbout Our District:
