The Assistant to the Director of Technology works collaboratively to create the best technology experience for instruction and district operations. The applicant should exhibit an aptitude for troubleshooting technical problems and proficiency in following instructions. Knowledge of basic computer repair and networking is a plus. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, addressing, and resolving problems. This position will be on a 260 day contract, 20 days vacation, and benefits. A standard work week is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm,. Depending on workload/projects, weekends may be considered. Compensation will be based on education and experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Support- Deploy, configure, and maintain district technology assets as authorized by the Director of Technology.
- Provides troubleshooting for all hardware/software/network incidents by independently researching solutions and conferring with colleagues to resolve problems quickly, efficiently, and professionally.
- Monitor and report on service request tracking system status, identify workload trends, and identify problems.
- Responsible and accountable for maintaining current and up-to-date knowledge of district systems and current operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Interacts with computing systems and guides staff on security best practices.
- Conduct training sessions for certificated staff to integrate technology into the instructional program.
- Keeps informed of recent trends in technologies, which may include self-guided training opportunities, in addition to training opportunities provided by the district.
- Maintain proper certifications to service district technology assets and adhere to district and business partner guidelines.
- Generate reports to assist decision-making by supervisors. Service Requests
- Resolve service requests from the service ticket tracking system in priority order while maintaining customer service and performance objectives.
- Provide user training or support to reduce repeat incidents, and follow up to ensure service request resolution.
- Identify recurring incidents and recommend problem resolution to supervisors.
- Maintain a good working relationship with employees of the district. Knowledge Management
- Refer to the department knowledge base when researching solutions to incidents and problems.
- Research solutions to incidents and problems using external resources.
- Contribute solutions to recurring incidents in the department knowledge base.
- Create documentation for staff professional development purposes.
- Mentor and train supplemental and seasonal staff. Asset Management
- Inventory all hardware and software using automated tools and manual audits.
- Request materials and parts required for repairs Other duties may be assigned.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Reasoning Ability- Demonstrates initiative.

Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
