Communication - The Student Technician will communicate in a clear and organized manner. This competency covers the strong communication skills required to interact effectively with the Gannon community while providing technical support and following directions. Critical Thinking - The Student Technician will gather and analyze information from a diverse set of sources to make sound decisions and solve problems while supporting the technology needs of clients in person, over the phone, or via remote interaction with the client's computer. This competency relates to the ability to resolve IT support requests effectively, demonstrate resourcefulness, and independently tackle technical issues faced by the Gannon community. Part-Time IT Support Assistant This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to develop both technical and customer service skills in a supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level IT support to students, faculty, and staff via phone, email, and in person. Troubleshoot issues related to Wi-Fi, Internet access, FortiNAC scans, software, account issues and password resets. Use knowledge base articles to guide users through solutions. Accurately document all support interactions in the ticketing system. Maintain a clean workspace and assist with general office duties.Qualifications:
Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset. Ability to follow instructions and learn new systems. Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week; up to 20 hours available. Required Qualifications- Current Gannon University undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Familiarity with computers, software applications, Gannon educational software.
- Good communication skills. Active listener. Dependable and able to follow directions. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with users via phone calls. Physical Demands
- Position requires sitting for the majority of the shift, typing, making and receiving phone calls to provide client support.
