Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Computer Science are seeking student employees to assist in the computer science area as well as other IT assignments. CS student workers work on fixing student and University devices in a timely manner. This often involves communicating with the user and co-workers in order to come up with solutions quickly while ensuring that the solution is as permanent as can be. Students will deal with a little bit of everything IT and help ease the workload for the rest of IT.

Job Duties Task may include but are not limited to:
Assist CS Faculty / Staff / Students with issues or requests regarding university issued devices / lab equipment / instructional technology
Assist with student devices as long as technician feels they can assist. If not refer them to Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
Troubleshoot issues that arise and work with IT staff to resolve the issue.
Ensure printer(s) in the labs or common spaces are functioning and stocked with toner and paper.
Open and close the lab at the designated times posted on signage
Support lab sections that may be scheduled in the labs.
Work with department systems admins and IT staff to rectify and requests or issues.
Use university ticketing system to record work done, issues, or requests by the department.
Assist with IT ticket queue when not assigned a task by the department or needed to oversee a lab section.
Must have completed CSCI 162 or transfer in of an equivalent course. (Management can consider other experiences)

Working Conditions and Physical Effort Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
