Degree in information technology, computer engineering, engineering technology, or computer science or relevant experience Experience troubleshooting in a Linux environment Experience with hardware root cause analysis and related data collection. Experience with technical documentation and use of a ticketing or tasking system such a Jira. Experience in a production-based environment with an understanding of how to update task documentation. Networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP) Strong communication skillsPlusses:
Experience with virtual reality systems, cameras and optical systems, lighting systems, and audio systems. Scripting (Should be able to write basic automation tasks in bash or python) Experience running cable, wires, or understanding of fiber connections. Experience in a product or field support role. Proven experience going into Linux terminals and using Linux command line utilities. Day toDay:
Meta Reality Labs is seeking a System Technician to join our team. The System Technician will work closely with the User Studies team to understand ongoing issues with capture stages and correct these issues to keep the stages operational for external participants.Additional responsibilities include:
Providing onsite troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support for the capture systems during the capture process. Maintain and address component bugs and issues. Analyze frequent failures and make suggestions for how to solve these issues. Create lasting solutions for frequent or recurring issues. Assembly support for system upgrades. Escalate any non-standard issues to the appropriate Client team using an internal issue reporting tool. Helping to maintain system documentation. Collect data to verify component performance. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
