Job Summary:
Install and maintain all functions associated with the college's voice network and data network. Provide support for data network infrastructure and daily operations.Essential Functions:
50% Install, monitor, and maintain data network. Maintain network access switches and configurations for each campus. Install or oversee data cable installation. Assist in the development and maintenance of the appropriate documentation for network analysis and problem resolution. 35% Assist with the install and troubleshoot related voice systems, including cabling and related hardware. 15% Coordinate and work with outside vendors relating to telecommunications needs and maintain related documentation for voice and data services assigned fromNetwork Tech II or Manager Job Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Classes in switches and routers are preferred, as well as classes in the use of network analysis and testing equipment. Two years' experience in networking preferred. Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% of full-time experience.Physical Demands:
Employees must be able to climb ladders and work with materials above their heads. Employees also must be able to terminate network or phone connections, and install hardware.Hazards:
Hazards include working overhead while on a ladder, sometimes in noisy, dusty environments or in spaces that are not environmentally conditioned.Full-time Employment Benefits:
