District Primary Purpose:
To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary Purpose:
Responsible for first level campus and district support in the installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and resolving of problems with district computers and networks.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma N+ or A+ Certification Preferred Associates Degree preferred
Experience/Knowledge:
Knowledge of diagnosing and resolving equipment and software related problems Knowledge of computers, networks, and related software Knowledge of LAN network design and installation Ability to analyze and resolve computer network problems Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work with multiple operating system and network protocol
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Troubleshoot and resolve minor Local Area Network (LAN) server problems and hardware, software, and/or configuration problems. Upgrade and install network computer hardware and software to include building new servers and scheduling server down time. Perform network maintenance tasks such as backups, statistical reports, file restoration, and equipment replacement. Write requisitions for parts, repairs, and supplies. Complete computer and network repairs on-site when possible. Transport equipment to and from school and repair location. Administer periodic preventive maintenance on computer equipment Assist Network Administrative Specialist in maintaining hardware inventory, repair inventory and maintenance records. Assist Network Administrative Specialist in performing yearly physical inventory of all district microcomputer equipment. Assist Network Administrative Specialist in the installation of microcomputer and networks. Assist Network Administrative Specialist in the implementation of computer-based instructional project(s). Train and certify on new technology as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written); ability to use and repair computer; ability to maintain emotional control under stress; ability to read architecture blueprints and network layouts; ability to utilize organizational skills; ability to use and learn from technical self-pace pre-certification courses.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Occasional and irregular hours; frequent and repetitive hand motions; some district wide travel; frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, some lifting up to 50lbs may be required.
