Required Qualifications:
Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. At least 2 years experience with access control and security camera systems installation, maintenance. Previous experience with access control and CCTV installations. Strong understanding of low voltage cabling and systems. Basic IP networking skills. Experience using diagnostic tools and test equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience installing, testing and maintaining physical network cabling. Experience working with Panasonic cameras and Video Insight software Familiarity with Texas State University campus Relevant training and certifications Job Description We are hiring a Network Technician specializing in security and surveillance systems to support our multi-campus facilities. You will be responsible for installing, modifying and maintaining campus video surveillance, network video recording systems.
About Us:
We are a small team that is responsible for operating all aspects of the Texas State University campus network, security cameras, video recording systems, and emergency phones. We strive to maintain a highly reliable and sustainable infrastructure for the university community.
About You:
We are looking for someone with a solid foundation of camera installation and maintenance skills, who enjoys learning new things and solving problems. You should have strong interpersonal skills and must be able to work collaboratively with a team and interface with end-users and management. You must also be able to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve specific goals and complete assigned tasks and projects. Job Duties Install, modify and maintain campus video surveillance cameras, network video recording systems. Identify and troubleshoot camera issues. Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers in order to service and support cameras and related systems in a timely manner. Must have a clean driving record and able to operate university motor vehicles Additional Information to Applicants Network Operations will not sponsor or transfer visa sponsorship for this position.
