Job Description

Description Our client is seeking a highly motivated Hardware Deployment Technician to support end‑user technology operations at the Houston campus. This individual will be responsible for imaging, configuring, deploying, and maintaining laptops, desktops, and related hardware. The role is customer‑facing and requires strong communication skills, excellent technical troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Deployment & Configuration Install, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, shared devices, printers, and peripheral hardware. Perform system imaging and application installation using in‑house or automated deployment tools. Ensure devices meet client configuration, security, and compliance standards. 2. Hardware & Software Support Diagnose and resolve hardware failures and software issues both onsite and remotely. Support Windows 10/11 environments and common enterprise applications. Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and deployment processes. 3. Networking Assistance Provide basic assistance with network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and VPN configurations. Coordinate with networking teams to escalate complex connectivity issues when needed. 4. Customer Support & Training Deliver professional, customer‑facing technical support to end‑users across multiple business units. Train employees on device usage, best practices, and basic troubleshooting. Maintain a strong customer service mindset and ensure minimal disruption to business operations. 5. Inventory & Asset Management Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle. Support equipment pickups, returns, and refresh cycles for end‑users. Document deployment status, system configurations, and lessons learned. 6. Cross‑Team Collaboration Work closely with project coordinators and local support teams to execute deployment projects and initiatives. Identify gaps in process documentation and recommend improvements. Support special projects, office moves, and site‑wide technology deployments. Qualifications Education Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or related credentials are a plus. Experience 2+ years of hands‑on experience in hardware deployment, desktop support, or IT field services. Experience in Oil & Gas or enterprise‑scale environments highly preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. Experience with deployment tools (e.g., imaging utilities, software center tools). Understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, VPN configuration, and basic troubleshooting. Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure (preferred). Strong ability to install, repair, and replace PC components and peripherals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication and customer‑service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong documentation practices and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (monitors, desktops, docking stations, etc.). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Spring, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
