  • Information Technology Infrastructure Office Location Roanoke, VA preferred Business/Department Information Technology Sales Territory, if applicable General Role Description Provide first-line technical support, contribute to infrastructure deployments and maintenance, and provide input for IT projects by gathering requirements, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure reliable and efficient technology operations Role Accountabilities The Intern will work in one or more of the following areas:•Gather pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements as related to assigned scope of work•Provide first-line technical support to end users for hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices•Contribute to the deployment, configuration, and documentation of IT systems and equipment following established procedures and best practices•Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests within defined scope, escalating as appropriate, as assigned•Administer patching, updates, and routine maintenance tasks across infrastructure components, as assigned•Participate in infrastructure projects such as equipment refreshes, cabling, or system migrations under supervisor direction•Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and asset inventory•Ensure completion of assignments within the defined scope, quality, and time•Provide regular, accurate and considered status reports to parties deemed appropriate to the situation General Employee Accountabilities•Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager•Give manager best advice•Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified•Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager•

  • Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes Minimum Qualifications High school diploma Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, with related coursework Classes, labs, and projects with concentration in some combination of data analysis, data analytics structures, data preparation, ETL processes, or data visualization Demonstrated problem-solving skills Demonstrated successful working relationships with others in educational or employment settings Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility Proficiency in MS Office suite Availability to travel domestically, up to 5%, sometimes with limited notice This is not a benefits eligible position Preferred Qualifications•Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems•Foundational IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft fundamentals•Work experience as a help desk technician, IT support specialist, intern, or co-op in the above areas Link to TMEIC Corporation Americas website: https://www.
