Job Summary:
The Technical Product Owner (TPO) for Cloud Platform Operations is responsible for driving the strategy and roadmap of cloud-based platform services, including DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tooling, observability solutions, and core infrastructure capabilities. This role ensures engineering teams have a stable, scalable, and automated platform on which to build modern applications. Key Responsibilities
  • Bridge Between Business Needs & Technical Implementation Work closely with engineering, architecture, and operations to define platform requirements. Translate reliability, scalability, and security needs into actionable platform features. Ensure the platform supports product teams effectively through automation and governance
  • Product Vision & Strategy Define the cloud platform strategy with a focus on stability, self-service capabilities, and engineering productivity.
Build a roadmap for enhancements to DevOps pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, security tooling, and monitoring platforms. Advocate for modernization, automation, and cloud-native architecture adoption. Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to ensure product goals align with company strategy and technology standards.
  • Backlog Management Own and maintain the technical product backlog; define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical enablers.
Prioritize backlog items to balance new features, technical debt reduction, infrastructure improvements, and performance enhancements. Ensure backlog is visible, transparent, and understood by all team members. Balance operational needs with innovation-focused initiatives. Own and maintain the Product Catalog and documentation, ensuring all product capabilities, features, integrations, and service offerings are clearly documented, current, and aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Collaboration & Delivery Work closely with engineering teams during sprint planning, refinement, and review sessions. Serve as the primary point of contact for clarifying requirements and acceptance criteria. Partner with architects and developers to validate design and implementation decisions. Facilitate planning sessions for new platform capabilities and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Technical Focus Areas Azure cloud services, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Bicep), containerization, Kubernetes. CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, build/release automation. Monitoring, logging, APM tools, and platform reliability engineering principles. Support DevOps, cloud (e.g., Azure) optimization, and automation initiatives that enhance delivery velocity and reliability.
  • Stakeholder Communication Provide clear visibility into platform health, upgrades, risks, and release timing. Communicate technical concepts to leaders in understandable language. Facilitate cross-team alignment for platform governance, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to increase engineering velocity and reduce deployment failures.
Promote best practices around DevOps, cloud security, and operational resilience. Drive continuous optimization of pipeline performance, cost efficiency, and infrastructure automation. Analyze performance metrics, incident data, and user feedback to guide iteration and improvement. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or technical product ownership.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, IaC tools, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Familiarity with container platforms, microservices, and cloud security principles.
  • Strong ability to translate operational requirements into platform capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other data-intensive environments.
