The Opportunity As a Senior Data Product Owner for the USAA Member Data Products team, you will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable product requirements that enable the successful delivery of solutions. Working as an integral member of a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART), you will leverage Jira and Clarity to create and manage product features, partner with Agile teams to decompose features into user stories, define acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritized product backlog. You will facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing prioritization activities to ensure delivery teams are focused on the highest-value work. You will develop and maintain a strong collaboration across technology teams and guide product delivery from concept through implementation while supporting USAA strategic data initiatives. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: Work with business and Subject Matter Experts to understand business strategy and vision and then writ, refines, accept and prioritize stories and/or features to support effective and compliant solutions while balancing investment and business value. Own and maintain a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams. Product backlog includes complete user stories with acceptance criteria so that they are consumable and testable by the Agile team or program. Review and accept output of I/T and/or business development to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed. Serve as direct representative of the business with one or more delivery teams, representing the customers' perspective throughout the product delivery cycle. Participate in a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product road maps. Partner with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT to facilitate, define and document relevant business processes, gaining an advanced understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the improvement area. Prepare the business for the change and provides tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk. Leverage existing change management routines, as needed. Work with different technologies, internal and external to have oversight of development, testing and controls. Apply advanced knowledge in the business development/execution discipline, regularly seeking out opportunities to enhance, improve and advance the function. Coach and mentor other Product Owners. Demonstrate advanced knowledge in multiple business or system domains and capable of leading development across multiple teams at the project or program level. Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
