at Robert Half in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Description We are looking for a Scrum Master to support Agile delivery within a Financial Services environment. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can strengthen team execution, improve visibility into delivery progress, and help coordinate work across multiple stakeholders. The person in this role will guide Agile practices, remove barriers to progress, and promote consistent planning and transparency across the program.
Responsibilities:
  • Create clear visibility into delivery goals, team commitments, progress updates, and performance indicators so stakeholders can make informed decisions.
  • Coach teams and partner with cross-functional groups to improve planning, sequencing, and prioritization in support of program objectives and milestone delivery.
  • Monitor risks, identify blockers, and address dependencies across teams by coordinating with appropriate partners through both informal collaboration and established escalation paths.
  • Support release and program planning activities, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect & Adapt sessions, while providing metrics such as capacity trends, velocity projections, burndown insights, and dashboard reporting.
  • Oversee cross-team coordination by tracking shared dependencies, communicating status, and highlighting issues that may affect delivery timelines.
  • Maintain backlog accuracy and traceability in Azure DevOps by ensuring stories and features are properly aligned, updated, tagged, and completed for strong program transparency.
  • Improve the flow of work across Agile teams by applying Kanban practices, program boards, visual management tools, and team health metrics to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Collaborate with systems and support teams to ensure Agile tools effectively enable workflow transparency and support delivery processes.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and retrospectives, including Inspect & Adapt activities, while contributing to broader Agile maturity initiatives with the Agile Center of Excellence and PMO .
  • Help strengthen value stream performance by encouraging DevOps and release-on-demand practices that support a more effective continuous delivery pipeline. Requirements
  • Certified Scrum Master credential or equivalent ScrumMaster certification.
  • Hands-on experience serving as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments.
