Job Description:
As a Scrum Master/Project Manager within our Government Solutions Infrastructure/Security workstream PMO team, you will help lead and coordinate a variety of Sprints, potentially involving cross-functional, cross-departmental, cross-company teams that are responsible for all aspects of the project, from initiation to closure. We are currently operating in an environment where we are transitioning from an On Prem architecture to a Cloud architecture over multiple years. In addition we are also transitioning from waterfall to Agile. You must be comfortable operating in an environment where scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and expectations are not always defined (while managing to them when they are), bring extensive experience in relevant project management methodologies, and have exceptional communication skills. The successful candidate will have the aptitude to be able to work directly with technical engineers and developers in driving to solutions. The PM is not expected to be the technical expert but is expected to have the proven ability to work with technical SMEs to successfully achieve objectives. This individual must be a self-starter, show initiative, have demonstrated management skills, understand technical concepts and can communicate them in business terms. This individual also must have the ability to convey business urgency and priority on projects to technical engineers/developers. Individual will have the ability to operate in a matrix environment and can adapt in the client environment to achieve desired results. The ideal candidate will be a consummate problem solver who thrives on the challenges involved with driving teams to overcome complex technical issues. As a Scrum Master/Project Manager in this role, you can look forward to:
  • Managing client implementations, projects, and conversions for large/technical custom implementations
  • Responsible for driving complex, high priority implementations, conversions, audit remediations, projects or component phases of larger programs
  • Working with technical engineers and developers to successfully complete objectives
  • Lead a variety of Sprints that can be security focused, technical tool implementations, application development, and/or technical infrastructure projects
  • Sense of satisfaction after delivering solutions to complex issues
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute project phases, drive communications, and resource activities to ensure timely and effective project delivery
  • Find opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance revenue and improve product efficiency
  • Work with other groups to generate and offer appropriate solutions
  • Provide client consultative input on our product and system features
  • May lead and coordinate multi-functional, cross-departmental, cross-company teams that are responsible for all aspects of an implementation, project or conversion, from initiation to closure
  • Ensure project management methodologies, Sprint delivery processes, and implementation management processes are followed o This includes managing and driving Agile work, stand-ups, risk/issue management, and scope change management The above statements describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities. You will need to have:
  • High School Diploma Required; Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant work experience.
  • 5 years overall project management experience with some of the experience using Agile/Scrum
  • Demonstrated previous experience driving complex IT technical projects/Sprints
  • Previous experience in a PM role with exposure to Security and/or IT Infrastructure projects
  • Client facing experience with partners as well as both external and internal clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to be able to work after hours/on-call/weekend as needed for deployments
  • Ability to physically work in the office 5 days a week
  • Ability for occasional travel as required (5%-10%)
  • Ability to pass additional US Government background check as required by client
  • This work is for a US Government client that requires person to be a US Citizen or have a Green Card Preferred qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® and/or SAFe® or Scrum Certification(s)
  • Financial industry experience
  • Experience working with US Federal Government agencies
  • Microsoft Office
  • Azure DevOps or JIRA experience
