Operating under the Agile Lead , this role provides team level Agile facilitation, sprint organization, and engineering workflow coordination. The Agile Project Engineer ensures sprint commitments align with System Integration Process (SIP) requirements, facilitating collaboration between software, integration, DSOP, cloud, test, and cyber teams to maintain predictable, highquality delivery. At the center of this mission, the Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) unifies data, sensors, mission applications, cloud based services, and emerging AI enabled automation to give warfighters a decisive edge—turning complex, multidomain information into fast, clear, and actionable decisions in the moments that matter most. The CMCC System Facilitator contract positions SAIC to accelerate how new capabilities are integrated, tested, secured, and transitioned into operational use, working side by side with operators, engineers, Capability Providers, and government teams to ensure every delivery strengthens mission readiness. This effort offers the chance to directly shape how the Air Force sees, decides, and acts across all domains—making a tangible and immediate impact on warfighter effectiveness. This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, Beale AFB, CA or Colorado Springs, CO and will be hybrid remote .
Job Responsibilites:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand ‑ ups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, Retrospectives) ensuring structured, outcomes ‑ driven execution. Work with Product Owners to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority alignment with SIP milestones. Remove or escalate team ‑ level impediments; coordinate with the Agile Lead for issues. Track and report sprint metrics (velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect trends) and recommend improvements. Maintain Jira boards, workflows, dashboards, filters, and automation rules to support Agile transparency and flow. Help teams define and meet "Definition of Ready/Done" criteria, ensuring modeling, test, documentation, and security steps align with SIP gates. Coordinate cross ‑ functional dependencies with Cloud, Cyber, DSOP, Integration, and Test teams to ensure sprint deliverables meet release timelines. Assist technical teams with requirements clarification, interface management, and engineering task breakdown. Support PI Planning preparation, team breakouts, and alignment of sprint goals to Program Increment or Agile Release Train-level objectives. Promote Agile maturity through coaching, continuous improvement, and adoption of DevSecOps practices.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
TS clearance; Ability to obtain TS/SCI required to maintain employment. US citizenship. Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; OR Masters and three (3) years or more experience; OR PhD and 0 years related experience. 3-5+ years of Scrum Master, Agile Project Engineer, or Agile facilitator experience for technical teams. Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Kanban, and engineering workflow management. Hands on experience configuring and administering Jira and Confluence. Experience supporting or coordinating with engineering teams in DevSecOps , integration, cloud, or test environments. Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. Proven ability to manage sprint commitments, identify risks, and align engineering execution with program milestones. Ability to work in classified and multienclave environments.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or SAFe Practitioner certification. Experience using Agile metrics analytics and forecasting tools. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps concepts, or SIPaligned workflows. Experience coordinating multiteam Agile delivery with crossfunctional technical groups. Additional Agile certifications ( SAFe Advanced SM, ACSM, RTE-supportive credentials). ITIL foundations or service management experience. Strong technical writing and dashboard development skills.
