The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting complex technical programs. Job Summary The Software Engineer will function as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, providing software development and technical support for mission-critical systems. Job Duties / Responsibilities Software development primarily using Java Assist with software design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation Collaborate with engineering and technical team members throughout the software development lifecycle Support development and integration activities in an onsite, closed-area environment Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university Minimum of 1 year of related professional experience Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to work onsite in a closed-area environment daily Software engineering and development experience with Java and/or C++ Knowledge of basic software development practices, including coding standards and configuration management Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Agile software development environments and methodologies Java Swing Runtime Modularity and Service Registries, including OSGi or Apache Felix Runtime Injection Frameworks, including Google Guice or Spring Kill chain concepts or related experience Analysis and investigations using scripts Experience supporting defense or other mission-critical systems Security Clearance Candidates must currently possess and be able to maintain a minimum DoD Secret security clearance.
