Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work

The selected software Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the

GWS-GSS IPT.

You be responsible for software development execution and then will monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust for evolving conditions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Masters STEM Degree and 0 years of related experience.
  
• Experience developing embedded software in C++
  
• Exposure to HW/SW integration
  
• Experience developing software in a RHEL environment
  
• Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices.
  
• Ability and willingness to travel 10 to support business needs.
  
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.

S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related field.
  
• Missile Defense domain knowledge
  
• Experience using LabView
  
• Security + Certification
  
• A current active in-scope U.

S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Security Clearance Statement:

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
