JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a technical expert in the area of steam and/or combustion turbine field engineering. This position provides subject matter expertise to perform steam / gas path alignment, controls setup/troubleshooting, as well as inspection/testing, troubleshooting, and developing repair specifications/criteria for steam, hydro and/or combustion turbine components at plant sites. Performs and directs studies to evaluate the effects of modifications, deterioration, deletions, and additions to steam, hydro and/or combustion turbines and associated auxiliaries within FPG. Assists production units in resolution of equipment and system problems as requested. Performs or directs multi-discipline engineering work to optimize performance of inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of steam, hydro and/or combustion turbines and associated auxiliaries within FPG. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and investigation of plant systems, processes, and equipment. Initiates improvements to optimize achievement of plant, fleet, and/or fossil system business plan objectives. Ensures that performance gaps and other problems at a particular location are investigated at other locations having similar equipment and systems. Ensures fleet or fossil system-wide replication of solutions and standardization as appropriate. May serve as project engineer for assigned projects, including large, multi-discipline, and more complex projects. As assigned, duties include leading the project team, establishing and accomplishing valid requirements, monitoring all phases of project performance, approving project changes within approved limits, and conducting lessons learned reviews at project completion. Extensive travel is required. May provide technical direction to other engineers and/or support personnel assigned to work on projects.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Supervision and guidance is provided by the first-line manager and is generally limited to overall objectives, general guidelines and policy, and work priorities. The incumbent plans and executes the work with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school. Mechanical, Electrical or Civil concentration preferred Full competence as a Production Engineer as demonstrated by several years' experience at senior level as a System Engineer or Discipline Engineer. License as a Professional Engineer is highly desirable (may be required in accordance with TVA Business Practice 15).
