Job Description

Join us this summer to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the future of enterprise-level software engineering. At arrivia , we are looking for proactive self-starters who are not only passionate about code but are eager to explore how AI can revolutionize the development lifecycle. This isn't just a coding job; it's an opportunity to help us define how AI tools enhance our engineering workflows. You will report directly to our Manager of Software Engineering and work within a department that values clean code, architectural integrity, and the smart application of emerging technologies.
The Intern Experience AI & Engineering Mentorship :
Receive direct guidance from senior engineers on modern software patterns and the responsible use of AI in professional environments.
C-Suite & Leadership Sessions :
Participate in weekly sit-downs with our executive technology leaders to understand the high-level strategy behind a global travel brand.
Intern Outings :
Build your professional network through organized team-building events and social outings in Scottsdale with your intern cohort.
Key Projects & Responsibilities AI-Assisted Development :
Utilize and evaluate AI coding assistants (like GitHub Copilot or Claude) to accelerate feature development, drafting unit tests, and refactoring code.
Feature Development & Coding :
Collaborate with the team to design and code new features for our web applications using Java, C#, or JavaScript frameworks.
Full-Stack Exposure :
Work across the stack, from building responsive front-end components (React) to developing and dockerizing back-end microservices.
Data & Database Systems :
Assist in managing database structures and performing data retrieval/manipulation using SQL and Python.
Quality & Research :
Conduct research into how AI and automation can enhance our existing test strategies and development methodologies.
What We're Looking For Education :
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Expected graduation in 2026 or 2027 preferred).
AI Eagerness :
A high level of comfort with Generative AI tools and a strong desire to integrate them into your coding workflow for maximum efficiency.
Technical Foundation :
Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, or C/C++.
Web & Framework Knowledge :
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, React, Node.js, or ASP.NET.
Problem-Solving Mindset :
A "Stay Curious" attitude with a knack for troubleshooting complex software defects.
