Job Title:
Graphics Software Engineer - Vulkan / GPU Rendering (Android XR)
Location:
San Diego, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration:
3 months with possibility of extension Job Summary Client is seeking a Graphics Software Engineer to develop and optimize high-performance real-time rendering systems for Android-based XR (Extended Reality) applications. The engineer will focus on Vulkan graphics programming, GPU optimization, and Dynamic Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) rendering on Snapdragon-powered mobile devices and AR glasses. This is a highly hands-on development role requiring strong C++ expertise and experience optimizing graphics applications for mobile GPUs. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize real-time rendering pipelines using Vulkan. Build and enhance Dynamic Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) rendering systems. Optimize GPU performance for Qualcomm Adreno GPUs running on Android devices. Improve shader performance, rendering efficiency, and GPU memory utilization. Design efficient CPU-to-GPU data transfer pipelines. Debug rendering artifacts such as flickering, sorting issues, and GPU/CPU precision differences. Analyze GPU bottlenecks using profiling and debugging tools. Collaborate with XR, Computer Vision, and Avatar engineering teams. Contribute to prototype applications running on Android phones and AR glasses. Required Skills Strong programming experience with
