A Full Stack Developer writes code to support all aspects of a web-application, including the front-end which implements the visual elements and the back end which provides the business logic in the application. Needs to be skilled in front-end language such as javascript, back end languages such as Python, Ruby or PHP and database languages such as SQL. Analyzes customer or user needs, designs programs, writes code, tests design, and documents programs. May assist with upgrades or maintenance.
The Senior Full Stack Developer owns the core application end-to-end — leading hands-on development of new features and integrations while balancing performance, maintainability, and security across the monolithic codebase. This role establishes application monitoring, analyzes data flows across systems and vendor integrations, and proactively resolves performance issues. A key responsibility is safeguarding production data integrity, executing database changes with proper transaction handling, rollback capability, and audit logging. As a senior contributor, this person also gatekeeps code quality by reviewing and approving team contributions, partners with product and engineering teams to shape the technical roadmap, and evaluates emerging technologies for platform fit. Working with QA and DevOps, they help define testing and deployment practices that strengthen system reliability and scalability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Ownership & Codebase Management Own and maintain the core application, including hands-on management and cleanup of its monolithic architecture. Evaluate new features, enhancements, and integrations, balancing performance, maintainability, and security. Provide direct technical implementation — not just guidance — during discovery, design, development, and deployment phases. Translate business and counseling workflows into scalable, secure technical solutions. Performance and Optimization Establish application monitoring and data integration health checks to ensure uninterrupted workflows. Analyze end-to-end data flows between systems, the SaaS platform, and vendor integrations. Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and implement fixes directly. Database Integrity & Risk Management Safely perform and oversee direct production database changes — writing and executing queries and scripts using transactions, rollback capability, and audit logging so that no operation leaves data in a corrupted or unrecoverable state. Map current and future data flows, identifying risks to data integrity, privacy, and availability. Ensure compliance with privacy and security regulations and recommend best practices for secure data exchange and storage. Code Review & Repository Gatekeeping Review and approve code changes from contributing team members before they are merged into the repository, ensuring quality, security, and consistency standards are met. Act as the primary gatekeeper for repository access and contributions. Technology Strategy and Solutions Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to define the technical roadmap. Evaluate emerging technologies (automation, cloud services, analytics, AI) for their applicability in advancing the platform. Provide hands-on implementation and oversight for vendor integrations, APIs, and third-party services. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Partner with QA and DevOps teams to ensure robust testing frameworks and deployment practices. Define guardrails to reduce production issues. Advocate for practices that improve system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Qualifications:
Experience:
5-7 years in hands-on software development, with direct experience managing, refactoring, and cleaning up monolithic application architectures.
Technical Expertise:
Strong background in SaaS platforms and cloud-native architecture, with required, non-negotiable hands-on AWS experience — this team must fully own and understand its own infrastructure internally, so AWS proficiency cannot be substituted with Azure/GCP experience alone. Microservices familiarity is a plus. Experience using Claude Code is essential. Team leadership experience is preferred.
Database:
Strong SQL experience, specifically including safe, hands-on production database work — writing and running queries/scripts with transaction control, rollback procedures, and logging to prevent and recover from data corruption.
Code Review:
Demonstrated experience reviewing code and gatekeeping contributions from other developers before changes are merged into a shared repository.
Data & Integration:
Experience designing and managing secure data flows, API integrations, and monitoring frameworks.
Regulatory Awareness:
Familiarity with EHR systems, healthcare data standards, and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA).
