Software Developer Job Description This Software Developer role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic reporting solutions using Power BI and SQL. You will play a key role in building new dashboards, optimizing existing reports, and improving overall system efficiency in collaboration with a small software development team. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights to data analysts and business stakeholders. Use SQL to query, extract, and transform data from various sources to support reporting and analytics needs. Perform data modeling to structure and organize data for efficient reporting, analysis, and visualization. Collaborate closely with a small software development team to integrate reporting solutions into existing software and ERP systems. Optimize existing reporting solutions and dashboards to improve performance, usability, and overall system efficiency. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reporting and visualization tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data, reports, and dashboards in a timely manner. Contribute ideas and technical expertise to continuously enhance the organization's business intelligence capabilities. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited institution. At least 5 years of experience in software development, data analytics, or a closely related field. Proficiency in Microsoft BI tools for data modeling and visualization, with hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards. Strong SQL skills for data querying, extraction, and transformation across multiple data sources. Experience working with data analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices for business intelligence and analytics. Ability to design and implement efficient, maintainable reporting solutions that improve system performance and usability. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration with business intelligence and reporting tools is a plus. Experience working in or supporting a small software development team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in data quality and reporting. Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple reporting and dashboard projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Work Environment You will work in a collaborative setting, supporting a small software development team focused on building and improving software and reporting solutions. The environment emphasizes close teamwork with data analysts and developers, frequent interaction around dashboard design and data modeling, and hands-on use of Microsoft BI tools, Power BI dashboards, SQL, and ERP-related data. The role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by creating new dashboards and making the overall system more efficient. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Corona, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
