The Application Architect II will provide technical leadership, guide development teams, and contribute to the strategic direction of our IT solutions.
Strategic Architecture Planning:
Lead the strategic planning and design of scalable and future-proof application architectures. Collaborate with leadership to align technology strategies with organizational goals.
Technology Assessment and Integration:
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and open-source solutions for adoption. Oversee the seamless integration of new technologies into existing application ecosystems.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship:
Provide technical leadership to development teams, guiding them in architectural best practices. Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization.
Complex Problem Solving:
Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges related to application architecture. Provide expertise in troubleshooting issues and optimizing system performance.
Governance and Standards:
Define and enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and best practices. Adhere to governance processes to ensure compliance with standards. Collaboration with
Stakeholders:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align technology solutions. Translate business needs into effective and scalable technical solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, advocating for the adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Establish and implement strategies for enhancing the efficiency, security, and reliability of application architectures. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
Minimum Experience:
3-5 years related experience in an Application Architect or similar leadership role. Extensive knowledge of application development life cycle, software design principles, and architectural patterns. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing scalable, distributed, and high-performance applications. Experience with cloud-based application architectures.
Preferred Experience:
5 plus years of experience in a similar role in a Healthcare setting with proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
