Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Product Engineer for the ArcGIS API for Python! This Pythonic API empowers GIS analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and GIS administrators to leverage the rich Python ecosystem with ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise. Users accomplish a wide variety of tasks from geospatial deep learning and big data analysis to managing web GIS and automating workflows. As a Product Engineer, you will help design, build, and deliver a compelling Pythonic API for ArcGIS. Our team is committed to building high-quality software that meets customer needs through deep product knowledge and technical excellence. You will play a pivotal role as an advocate for product quality in the development process, providing a strong technical perspective to create highly reliable, sustainable, and innovative test automation tools and capabilities. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, and fellow product engineers, to develop and maintain test automation framework and capabilities Install and manage test automation infrastructure Build and maintain test report capabilities such as QA Automation dashboards, email reports etc Design, write, and maintain automated test cases for ArcGIS API for Python Troubleshoot and triage issues reported by customers Requirements 1+ year of experience in Python programming, RESTful web services, and geospatial technologies such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Pro Excellent written and verbal communication skills A passion for software product quality and documentation Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or other similar geospatial technology Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and commitment to product quality Ability to write clear, accurate, and developer-friendly technical documentation Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field Recommended Qualifications Master's degree in in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions for automated testing, code coverage, and documentation workflows Effective project management, time management, and organizational skills #LI-TA1 #LI-Onsite Total Rewards Esri's competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
