San Francisco, CA Hourly rate: $73.00 Contractor benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401k In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design, build, and optimize scalable applications, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on software engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack in an Agile environment. What You'll Do Partner with cross-functional teams to transform complex business and technical requirements into scalable, end-to-end software solutions. Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using ReactJS , JavaScript (ES6+) , and contemporary front-end technologies. Build highly responsive, intuitive user interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences. Develop and support backend services using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI , Flask , or Django . Create and maintain automated testing frameworks, including unit , integration , and end-to-end testing using tools like Playwright , PyTest , and Jest . Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI to streamline testing and deployment. Provision, monitor, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure leveraging Docker , Kubernetes , and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform or CloudFormation . Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including architecture discussions, system design, coding, code reviews, testing, and deployment. Champion software engineering best practices focused on quality, reliability, security, and maintainability. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience developing and supporting scalable, production-grade web applications. Strong experience with Python backend development and modern web frameworks. Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+) , ReactJS , and front-end application development. Experience working with AWS cloud services , containerization technologies, and modern DevOps practices. Hands-on experience with Docker , CI/CD pipelines , and Infrastructure as Code methodologies. Demonstrated expertise in automated testing for both front-end and back-end applications. Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot , ChatGPT , Cursor , or similar technologies to improve development efficiency, testing, and documentation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code. Preferred Qualifications Experience building data-intensive applications that process, analyze, and visualize complex datasets. Hands-on production support experience, including application monitoring, incident response, performance optimization, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Expertise designing and implementing robust end-to-end test automation frameworks for enterprise-scale web applications. Strong SQL skills, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning with databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL . Knowledge of regulated environments and compliance standards, including 21 CFR Part 11 , GxP , HIPAA , and GDPR . Technologies You'll Work With ReactJS
