QA Tester and Developer

Description The QA Tester and Developer is responsible for testing websites, web applications, forms, pages, and user flows to make sure everything works correctly before launch and after updates. This role focuses on finding bugs, layout issues, broken links, form problems, mobile/responsive issues, browser problems, and anything that could create a poor user experience. The QA Tester and Developer will review staging and live websites, document issues clearly, and work with the developer, designer, and marketing team to confirm fixes. They should be able to test from both a customer perspective and a technical perspective and understand how to read console messages in browser. The QA Tester and Developer's main job role will be testing websites, however the strongest candidate will have good understanding how modern websites work, including basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive layouts, browsers, forms, and frontend behavior. While they won't be a lead developer, light development work may be required for various parts of their day-to-day work, including basic website updates on React, Wordpress, Shopify, etc. Key Requirements  Experience testing websites or web applications  Strong attention to detail  Ability to test desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts  Ability to test forms, buttons, links, menus, popups, search, filters, and page flows  Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and browser behavior  Basic understanding of web development, including React, Wordpress, Shopify, etc.  Ability to find visual issues, functional bugs, broken links, missing content, and inconsistent styling  Ability to write clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, screenshots, and browser/device details  Experience retesting fixes and checking that bugs are resolved  Ability to test in common browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, iOS Safari, and Android Chrome  Good communication with developers, designers, and marketing team members Preferred Requirements  Experience testing retail or eCommerce websites  Experience testing product pages, category pages, landing pages, forms, checkout flows, or quote request flows  Experience working with React or other custom-built websites  Experience using browser developer tools, screen recording tools, and issue tracking tools  Understanding of accessibility basics, including readable text, contrast, form labels, keyboard navigation, and focus states Main Responsibilities  Test website pages and features before release  Review staging websites against approved designs and requirements  Check that desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts work correctly  Test forms, buttons, links, menus, popups, search, filters, and user flows  Report bugs clearly with screenshots or screen recordings  Retest fixes after the developer makes updates  Check for broken images, missing content, typos, spacing issues, and inconsistent styling  Help make sure website releases are clean, stable, and easy for users to navigate

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
