As the Sr Software Developer/Engineer, you will perform analysis and make recommendations for implementing updates/upgrades to the current CDSs and/or development of a new
CDS. SEWS
currently operates within three geographic CCMD's areas of responsibility (U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), and U.S. India Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) in support of the Department of State (DOS), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) missions.
Clearance:
Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Travel Required:
Yes (Ability to travel approximately 6-7 weeks a year) Requirements Essential Functions Improves software quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures. Enhances applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing software systems. Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer review code changes. Liaises with colleagues to implement technical designs. Investigates and uses new technologies where relevant. Determines and analyzes requirements for software supporting training/testing devices. Conducts independent software validation, verification, and accreditation.

Provide support for CDS-related issues, ensuring the issue is resolved quickly and corrective actions are well documented. Travel to CDS sites to perform updates/installations, provide CDS-related training as requested. Work with the CDS vendor when a new build is being developed, providing guidance and assisting with the testing. Maintain awareness of Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and ensure the CDSs are in compliance with updates. Required Experience Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, Master's preferred. 5+ years of software development experience. In-depth knowledge of SELinux, Python, Perl, C++, Java, bash, regular expressions. Ability to perform reverse engineering to analyze items identified above. Ability to learn new programming concepts. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make appropriate modifications. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI. DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) required to start, CISSP preferred. The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements Ability to travel approximately 6-7 weeks a year.
