This position combines product design, manufacturing knowledge, customer communication, and hands on problem solving. Our engineers work with customers and production personnel to develop carbide inserts toolholders, and tooling solutions for specific applpications. Our products and processes are highly specialized, so prior carbide tooling experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a solid engineering/design foundation, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to learn our products and manufacturing processes through hands on experience. Responsibilities

• Work with customers to understand tooling requirements and solve application problems
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and existing tooling to develop solutions.
• Design and modify carbide inserts, toolholders, and related tooling.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing designs and applications.
• Work directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure designs can be produced efficiently and consistently.
• Consider manufacturability, production time, and cost when developing designs.
• Develop a strong understanding of our products, equipment, manufacturing processes, and customer applications. Qualifications
• Previous engineering or technical design experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Ability to create, read, and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Understanding of manufacturing and how design decisions affect production.
• Strong communication skills with both customers and production personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn specialized products and processes.

Experience with machining, grinding, tooling, cutting tools, or precision manufacturing is beneficial but not required. Training & Development Extensive product specific knowledge will be learned on the job. This includes carbide insert and toolholder design, customer applications, grinding and manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities, and how design decisions affect production and cost. The goal is to develop the knowledge necessary to take a customer requirement or problem, determine a practical solution, design the appropriate tooling, and work with production to successfully manufacture it. Pay:
