Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a contract opportunity.

The Backend Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable Java-based applications and APIs. This role works within a cross-functional Agile development team to build and maintain enterprise-grade backend services, REST APIs, and batch processing applications. The team collaborates closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA Engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot

Design, build, and support

REST/SOAP

APIs and integration services

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Conduct code reviews and ensure adnce to development standards and best practices

Collaborate with offshore teams to provide technical guidance and resolve issues

Troubleshoot application defects and support production incidents

Participate in Agile ceremonies, s planning, and estimation activities

Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release activities

Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support artifacts

Ensure application performance, security, and scalability requirements are met

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in Java Application Development

Experience with Object Oriented programming

Experience with Spring (Framework, Spring Boot, ORM, MVC, Integration, Batch, Services)

Experience with

SOA, REST/SOAP

webservices, JSON/XML

Exposure to cloud technologies and platforms

Experience with Source Control Tools such as BitBucket/GIT or Subversion (SVN)

Experience with Maven, Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI), JUnit

Experience in NoSQL DB Cassandra

Experience with at least one RDMS such as Oracle or SQL Server

Experience in Apache Kafka, MQ messaging frameworks

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
