This position reports to:
Technical Support Manager __ In this role you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support for customers' operation people with marine products and systems. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues, as well as providing guidance to customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and marine technology, with a focus on LV and MV drives Your role and responsibilities: Technical Support for MV/LV Drives in ABB Marine delivered systems on vessels operating worldwide. Occasionally participating in field service activities, like but not limited to troubleshooting at site, repairs, maintenance and training operators. Primarily supporting the customers remotely from the office environment using telephone, email and chats. Advanced troubleshooting through ABB's Remote Diagnostic System (RDS). Technical advisory function internally in ABB Marine for own personnel. Contribute towards development and R D teams further developing and enhancing advanced services and solutions. Utilizes all relevant support and reporting tools to document work, according to the global end-to-end processes. Executes wrap-up and follow-up (when needed) of support cases in a timely manner. Identifies improvement needs in the way of working and potential solutions for them, communicates them proactively and drives small improvement actions. Prepare technical reports after cases closure. Qualifications for the role:
Four or more years' experience in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on variable frequency drives, both low and medium voltage, and control systems. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another Electrical technical field. Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures. Experience in marine power generation and power distribution. Must be fluent in both written and verbal English Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software used for troubleshooting drive systems preferred. Experience as a ship electrician or have experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations. Willingness to travel for on-site support and service activities.
